Our client is a top-tier portable rechargeable fan brand in Southeast Asia, dominating the household and outdoor cooling market. Facing fierce competition, they encountered critical performance bottlenecks with their existing standard DC fan motors: only 3 hours of battery life on a full charge, excessive noise (55dB) affecting indoor use, an 8% failure rate under the region's typical 40℃+ high-temperature conditions, and incompatibility with their compact design (requiring motor outer diameter ≤60mm). To regain market leadership, they urgently needed a customized motor solution tailored to Southeast Asia's unique climate and user habits .


Core Customer Requirements

Battery Life Optimization: Reduce motor power consumption to extend full-charge runtime to over 5 hours, addressing users' outdoor cooling needs.

Customized DC Fan Motor Solution

1. Performance Parameter Customization

Leveraging brushless DC motor (BLDC) technology's inherent efficiency , we redesigned the motor winding structure and adopted a low-power driver chip, reducing motor power from 12W to 8W while maintaining equivalent airflow—achieving a 33% energy saving. To lower noise, we optimized the impeller blade curvature and enhanced dynamic balance, reducing operation noise to 38dB. For high-temperature resilience, we used 120℃ heat-resistant enameled wire and high-temperature bearings, paired with an IP54 protection rating to resist outdoor dust and moisture .

2. Structural & Functional Integration

We developed a compact motor with 58mm outer diameter, perfectly fitting the client's installation space. A low-power Hall sensor was integrated to enable intelligent speed regulation, further reducing energy consumption during low-load operation. The motor's lightweight aluminum alloy housing improved heat dissipation while reducing overall product weight for better portability .
